This book by Danzy Senna is about LA, writing, race, wealth and stolen ideas, and I loved it. I had no idea when I started that that the author and main character both live in “Mayberry” (aka South Pasadena) too, so that made it EXTRA fascinating to me.
New favorites in the house! 🏡 My kids and I love these books. We keep coming back to these stories and find something new in the illustrations each time. Beautiful artwork throughout! 📚⭐️ #LIBRARYHAUL

Picture book “Lyle at the Office” by Bernard Waber.
Every morning I set off for a run but end up walking home, books in hand, after I pass the Little Free Libraries.
It is bonkers.
I lived in Berlin for years and never felt compelled to buy this terrifying German classic kid’s book, but it found me today in a little free library here in South Pasadena and I finally relented.
The good thing that has come out of posting on instagram about Bluesky and Cara is lots of little chats with friends I hadn’t been in touch with for a while. It reminded me why I DO like social media and why I don’t want to give up on it completely. So here I am. ❤️
