Brad Lander was a Jewish candidate in the race. Landers & Mamdani even cross endorsed each other. And he did answer the question of fighting Islamophobia.
Letβs not further division of the Jewish & Muslim communities by adding to the disinformation out there.

I'm sitting a sidewalk table at a coffee shop in NYC charging my cell phone off my laptop that is tethered to my cell phone and I'm cautiously optimistic that I've just created a pertpetuatal motion machine.

Dear astronomer friends, I don't know who needs to hear this, but thank your referee in your acknowledgements, even if they are anonymous, and even if you don't completely agree with them. Refereeing is a lot of work, and the least you can do is say thank you.

Back from a four month sabbatical visit to Goddard Space Flight Center. It was a great visit and so amazing to see the progress on the Roman Space Telescope.

Image of a record player with a record and the sleeve of the record sitting on the record player leaning against the wall. The record is Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" showing a prism diffracting white light into a rainbow.
As I've been getting back into vinyl after decades of cassettes, CDs, MP3s, etc., I realize how much time artists used to put into where the songs existed on the records, how the songs related to each other, and how each side had a different experience and told a different story.
