But I do think these two very prideful characters might be just what the other needs to keep that spark alive. 📻🍎✨

Like, bothering Alastor arguably brings him as much joy as rubber ducks.

His love is genuine and heartfelt, but I truly believe it's appealing to Lucifer's pride that will inevitably force him out of hiding and bring back his spark.

I've truly not seen him more satisfied in the past two seasons than the moments when he's pissed Alastor off enough to cause a reaction.

At this point, even the notion that the girls would ask Alastor for help compels Lucifer up out of bed, out of him comfy oversized sweater, and out of the hotel to go put on a show for a bunch of sinners that he can't even stand.

Specifically BECAUSE Lucifer is the Sin of Pride, he can't back down from a perceived challenge. It literally COMPELS him to respond and forces a reaction out of him.

And I think this is one of the reasons Lu & Lilith's marriage didn't work out. I think most folks can agree that love isn't enough to sustain a relationship.

Now- enter stinky deer

Now, imagine this from Lilith's perspective, waiting CENTURIES for Lu to show up/be present/follow through/do something, ANYTHING, but Lu is too stuck in his own head to do so. Yes, he loves his wife, he misses her dearly- but that still doesn't mean he wasn't likely an absent/neglectful husband.

Because of this, even when told by Vaggi that Charlie needed his help, Lucifer didn't jump at the opportunity to do so. Again, there's no question that Lucifer loves his daughter. But Love and action/follow through/showing up aren't the same thing.

Anyone who watches the show knows that Lucifer LOVES his daughter, just as he loves Lilith. But he's a terminally depressed celestial being with what's likely the first ever recorded case of agoraphobia, and he has has lost his spark over the centuries spent in Hell.

Viv talks a lot about how Lucifer & Alastor are very prideful characters (see: Al getting his ass kicked by Adam & Lu making a fool of himself at Vox's rally). Their egos primed them to clash from the start but I wonder if its also their pride that brings them together in the end. 🧵 #radioapple

It was bc he misspoke at the time. But also, the user you're replying to seems to be going into posts to argue against any depiction of Alastor that isn't sex/romance repulsed aroace vs. curating their timeline to see the content they want so I'm personally not gonna engage w them.
