The Early Career Researcher day is in full swing today at #USHUPO - we are discussing βManaging Uncomfortable Conversations & Relationships in the Workplaceβ.
No problem, at least you watched it. Does it resonate?
I saw this at a conference for blood-based diagnostics and was blown away.
A forest cathedral near Wailuku River State Park
Nature is amazing, over the weekend I was able to spend time admiring this beautiful place. To me this is the type of cathedral GaudΓ was inspired to mimic in his works.
Thank you ππΌ
Great starter packs for folks in the #AgingResearch world

Sharing here a new commentary in Science Policy Forum that provides new analysis on risks related to the potential future creation of mirror bacteria β synthetic organisms in which all molecules have reversed chirality (i.e. are βmirroredβ). 1/x

With today's report outlining risks on mirror life www.science.org/doi/full/10.... many have asked:
Could mirror life survive in the wild?
Yes. While mirror life in the wild could have some significant disadvantages (like finding food it can digest), they do not appear to be insurmountable: π§΅

On The Climate Brink: Stop emissions, stop warming: A climate reality check
This is a crucial point because it determines how much warming is already "locked in" and effectively unavoidable.
The answer is very little warming is locked in.

Even more, how do paternal genetics & ages interact with exposures to affect F1 outcome?
We tested this systematically, with intriguing findings & some cautionary talesπ§΅...

Another orchid.
Iβm loving all of the orchids I have been finding around the island. Here are two more!
Doesnβt look like Olink and Somascan correlate well at all.
A hard spin will definitely still contain EVs. It could be a cleavage product as you suggested earlier or apoptosis.

I worked with FFPE breast tissue from breast cancer patients during my postdoc @buckinstitute.bsky.social and found a lot of great biology underlying the different subtypes of breast cancer. This allowed us to differentiate the subtypes on a molecular level.
Now itβs Fall 2024 and π¦ is growing faster than ever!
