Nice! Yeah I meant the reboot!
Anyone still playing fireball island? ποΈ was wondering if it might be a fun game for a 7 year old?
Nice!
Never played LOWD but would love to try it sometime. I remember it being a game that really excited me when first getting into board games.
Very clever!
Genius!
Probably smarter move! But still hate it.
I π€¬ hate these stupid stickers!
I get the aim of plastic reduction but can we use stickers that donβt trash you board game box!?!?
Oooh now you have my attention
I guess itβs officially spring now!
Iβve never been afraid to move on games that no longer have a place in my collection for whatever reason, but thatβs mostly due to my restriction on space. I have 50 games at the moment but Iβm culling about a third of those. Nothingβs really getting played at the moment anyway.
Kudos! I need to do the same, by that I mean a more radical cull.
But I do feel quite gutted to get rid of games I know are really good especially when I havenβt played them!
In my case itβs two key issues.
1) storage space. I donβt have much more room for board games in my home.
2) Mental load of deciding and committing to play my games, more games makes it feel more daunting and pointless to pick and play a single title from my shelf of shame.
I donβt have a huge board game collection by hobbyist standards. Maybe 80 games. 100 max (including games for kids 6+).
But I still yearn for that dream collection size of 15-30 games.
It would also be a βdynamicβ collection where I can quickly rotate games in and out with ease.
Thatβs why finding a good way to release old games into the world is key later in the hobby. I started a little free library in front of my house where I give them away, I donate to the local public library and my local game store sells used games on consignment. Games are for sharing.
Yeah absolutely, I donate and sell quite a few but I feel like I need to amp things up.
Would love to get down to a 20/30 game collection so I can more manageably rotate games in/out.
Bu if your circumstances and tastes change, it can take a while to shift that pipeline.
So you end up having a lot of the games you previously sought out (as we tend to accumulate a lot of board games) while trying to find room and table time for the newer games that match your current tastes.
Itβs interesting how slowly your board game preferences evolve and adapt.
You spend years being exposed to certain games, mentally wishlisting the ones you like, then buying the ones you can, all followed with the challenge of getting they games played.
Thereβs a sort of pipeline if you will.
If the shitstain files scandal had happened in france/Italy/many asian nations - there would have been a revolution. The french kind.
For a second I thought this was a covid conspiracy article π
Hate this
Awesome! ππ½
I played it last like 10 years ago when it was a bit more closer to its apex as a game. Really enjoyed it and have been meaning to try again. But I am generally a fan of older euros.
So is 2026 the year cinema/tv reverts to buff white dudes as the main hero of simple morality tales?
Yeah about half way now, a bit richer but still pretty simplistic- which is totally what I expected!
Awesome π€© I just hope the movie is decent.
The nostalgia force is strong with this one!
Yeah got those, it still feels pretty scripted but not an issue for me, kinda expected that going in.
But anyone planning to buy should be aware itβs threadbare in terms of decision space etc.
