We know padre, we know.
We know padre, we know.
The US is widely reported to have hit the Qeshm desalination plant. The response from Iran suggests they may now use the precedent to justify attacks on Gulf plants. Attacking critical civilian infrastructure is a war crime. The Govt must seek an urgent explanation from the US.
Andy delivering Liberal Democrat leaflets for Caleb Pell & Carol Dunne for the Abingdon Abbey Northcourt by-election!
Great to get out this morning supporting our two wonderful Lib Dem candidates Caleb Pell & Carol Dunne #Abingdon
As the Americans land B1 bombers at RAF Fairford, President Trump is promising a relentless assault. We are being drawn into an offensive war. The PM must spell out to Parliament what constitutes a βdefensiveβ operation and the limits on the use of our bases.

Good choice!
A detailed and helpful post explaining the full story of the Oxford Road roundabout, and what's happening next. Thank you @nathanley.com !
Reform's Trump-style plans for an ICE-like immigration force in the UK will bring only chaos and disorder, not the control our immigration system truly needs.
Vocabulary recap:
Preemptive strike (n.), an unprovoked military attack.
Hilarious... she's invented a rank in the police that I don't believe exists!
Didn't she get someone to check before she hit "post"?
I have to add the standard disclaimer - I am not a lawyer!
Interesting precedent! One to discuss the next time I see one of my colleagues working in New Economic Thinking...
Nominative determinism playing out, clearly!
Thank you, Manchester!
"There is still some good in the world, and it is worth fighting for" - with apologies to JRR Tolkien.
It is delightful Reform supporters are calling Gorton and Denton vote tainted.
This because "women were told how to vote by their husbands".
In the US, their ideological friends are trying to push a law that will make it much harder for married women to vote.
Some great insights here:
I'm absolutely in favour of regulation! But it may be entirely irrelevant if the supposed assets are eventually seen as worthless.
Reform have lost this morning - but they're neck-and-neck with Labour leadership for the "least self reflective in face of defeat" award!
Very relieved that the good people of Manchester have done the right thing!
The historian in me mutters "South Sea bubble" and "Dutch tulips" - but then ducks because of the ire of the tech bros.
And if you throw in Planning Policy reform at the same time, chaos is almost guaranteed. It helps to know your authority boundaries if you're starting on a new Local Plan!
So LAs are avoiding the capital cost of investing in special schools, but are being bankrupted by the costs of private special schools.
A better solution would be to invest in properly trained TAs in mainstream and a sensible expansion of LA special schools.
There is so much that could and should be done to fix the SEND system.
Lack of TA support in mainstream schools (due to budget cuts) pushed SEND children out of school into specialist provision.
There's not enough state special school places, so LAs have to buy expensive private school places.
Can we harness all these u-turns as a new form of renewable energy? It's just a shame about the emissions...
When that happened in WW2, the punishment was being sent to run Bermuda.
'Absolute disaster': Some kids with special needs will lose rights under radical SEND reforms

I've seen the protest song of the Trump era, and it's street dance!
Seriously impressed.

So obviously the EU should respond by putting up websites with all of the vaccine science and racial history that the current US government is censoring, and that will be fine, right?
I'd had enough pictures of Tories pointing at potholes
It's time for 3000 words of catharsis (fully sourced! And with new numbers!)

Simply brilliant!
This week has been Childrenβs Mental Health Week.
As Chair of the Health and Social Care Committee, mental health is an area I am extremely passionate about. I am pleased that my committee, with the Education Committee, have announced a joint inquiry into children and young peopleβs mental health.
