'the trees - the forest - the trees - the forest', published by excellent spoken-word zine @stanzacannon.bsky.social. A poem ostensibly about trees but mostly about cliches and what they hide/reveal:

You can now hear my poems "RIP MTD," "Sympathy for the Sober Sister," and "Reunion Special" in the new issue of @stanzacannon.bsky.social. Check them out here: stanzacannon.com/issues/issue...

Reskeeting this again for Earth day, because my poem here is about the Earth, or about the Earth as a metaphor, or both

Appreciated!
Spring 2025 will be our final issue before going on a hiatus of undetermined length. (Our editor is extremely depressed and tired.) The rag will remain online and active, but we will be closing submissions for the first time since our launch. Still time to submit: stanzacannon.com/submissions
Stanza Cannon is great!!! You're probably great, too, so why not submit?!? (Read their directions, fer real)
We love all the new follows and the site traffic. So many people hearing our contributors' #voices is a magnificent thing!
Now, how about recording a few #poems and sending them our way?

If you've ever whispered apologies to a tree or made eye contact with a particularly judgmental seagull, we want your eco-themed art.

An amazing poet any press would be proud to put their name behind.
Shout out to Johanaβs, and Bettieβs Moon. Oh the things we thought we could get away with , back in the day.
The editor usually takes a trip up to Fort Nonsense in Morristown, NJ for the quarterly picture for the magazine, but he also goes out annually to Punxsutawney, PA to see a groundhog predict the weather. Here's a cannon from town and an encouragement to always keep things weird.
The editor is snowed in on a Sunday, and the Superbowl hasn't started yet, so any #audio #poetry #submissions sent today (2/9/25) will receive same-day yays or nays up until 11:59 EST!

I can say from very happy experience that Stanza Cannon is AWESOME to work with (as well as to experience!). Putting on my teacher voice... "Read the instructions!"...and then SUBMIT! They rock.

Happy New Year's, all!
We apologize for the lack of presence this last month or so. The EIC's time and consciousness have been utterly consumed by work, so we will not be publishing a Winter 2025 issue but will return in spring.
Our new issue is live, and #poetry #submissions are open for our Winter 2025 issue (due out early February). Check out our guidelines here: stanzacannon.com/submissions
