90% of those Instagram "historians" aren't writing their own material. They read it in a book. Someone else's book. I don't care if someone makes a reel about my book because I don't have that kind of time, but *credit the book* so people buy it and I get to write more books you can turn into reels.
And YouTubers! I've seen so many "did you know?"-type reels drawn directly from my books and not once was the book or author credited.
