The fact that Kristi Noem was removed and Pete Hegseth was not should tell white women everything they need to know about their relationship to power.
It wonβt, but it should.

61 years ago today, a group of 600 peaceful protestors began a 54-mile march from Selma to the steps of the Alabama state capitol in Montgomeryβ in response to the police murder of 26-year-old Army veteran Jimmie Lee Jackson during an attempted march in Marion, AL two weeks prior.
I agree. AP needs to be broken up into two distinct courses (at minimum). Actually three would be better (Exploration to 1800, 19th century up to WW1. The WW2 to present). It would make teaching it so much easier.
Pull up and start your searching. Propublica set up a database just for us to follow the money
Ah, the ruler lady. Visiting her office with manuscript in hand was more stressful than defense!
It is so damning of US news media that so many outlets refuse to just straight up say that Senator Tim Sheehy assaulted an activist.
He did not "help" Capitol police. They did not need his help. He wanted to assault the guy and did. He should resign.
Learned that lesson after getting hospitalized for dysentery in the middle of finals week. Didnβt want to take an inc, but when you faint every time you stand up, taking an Inc isnβt so bad after all!
Struggling with this. Iβm in higher ed now and AI is everywhere. College is pushing it and Iβm supposed to show students how to use it, but Iβm still figuring it out myself. Iβd go back to blue books but time is already tight as we just moved from 16 wk term to 8 weeks. π
Damn.

Didnβt we raise a fuss when Michael Fay was caned in 1994 for vandalism in Singapore? And now the US is blowing up fishing boats that allegedly carried drugs? At least Fay had a trial and was sentenced according to Singapore lawβunlike the folks we are killing w/o trial.
Years ago our admin did a red and black report. It took salaries & how much $ each instructor made in tuition $ for classes we taught-you were in the red or black. They released numbers once & shut it down bc humanities were producing huge $ for uni & engineers, business and scientists were losing $

Spot on.
Consider going into teacher ed. It keeps you in the loop with teachers on the classroom via placements for student teachers and you get to help new teachers learn their profession. That said, itβs not a perfect solution.
1300 was difficult but I managed to follow along. 1200 I figured out a word or two but lost the plot.Enjoyed the challenge!

Occasionally reminded that Georgia added a βpost tenure reviewβ process bc they were so certain that professors became deadweight once they had job security, and all the outcomes have proven JUST THE OPPOSITE! People work harder and in more complex ways when they feel secure in their employment.
Hmmm. Imagine that. History is important to understanding our world. Who knew?!
