So don’t take the bait. Remember your successes, things you enjoy, and the love that is given to you. They can’t take those things away from you. You’re better than them, and so are the people and things in your life. Pity them, because they don’t have those things and they know they never will.

The hardest thing is being kind, until you realize malice doesn’t deserve it. Just walk away. They need you to be the thing they hate, but as long as you were polite, you are entitled to just walk away. “Sorry you’re having a hard time glhf” and bounce. Their fits are their problems, not yours.

Give a compliment, help a struggling person put groceries in their car, pick up the bill for the car behind you in the drive through. Even just a random smile. And when you receive, pay it forward TWICE. Fission can split both atoms and hate.

If you don’t know what that thing is, then just spread good vibes. Be kind to those that have earned it from you. Offer one kindness to the unproven, because kindness has to start somewhere, and it can with you, every single day.

If you really need to effect change, pick one thing, pick one lane, one where you think you can have the most achievable impact, and walk it. Figure out the first reasonable step, and just do it, and figure the rest out as you go. Energy needs outlets. Focus that energy. ⚡️🔌

Don’t take the bait. (1/n)
If you need that one piece of advice that can carry you through not just the next four years, but for all the years left in your life, it’s don’t take the bait.
Read something else. Do something else. Put your nose back to the grindstone. Anything, anything healthy.
