Call for Submissions AAAS Cognate Society Session at PSA26
The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Section L (History & Philosophy of Science) and the Philosophy of Science Association (PSA) together invite submissions for the AAAS-PSA Cognate Society Symposium Session, which will take place at the PSA meeting November 19-22, 2026 in San Diego, CA. The 90 min symposium (which will be held on Thursday morning November 19th) typically consists of 3 presenters organized around a theme in the philosophy of science. Submissions must include the following:
β€’ The title of the proposed symposium
β€’ A short descriptive summary of the proposal (100-200 words)
β€’ A description of the topic and a justification of its current importance to the discipline (up to 1000 words)
β€’ A list of participants with institutional affiliations and e-mail addresses, including any non-presenting co-authors
Titles and abstracts of all papers (up to 500 words for each title and abstract)
β€’ Either an abbreviated curriculum vita or short biographical description (up to 1 page) for each participant, including any non-presenting co-authors
Please note that no previously published paper may be presented at the PSA meeting. All presentations must be in personβ€”no hybrid or online options are available. To be considered for the AAAS-PSA Cognate Society Symposium all presenters must be current members of both the AAAS and the PSA.
