A 2026 4th rounder and 2027 2nd is the only return you could get on a pending UFA 20+ goal middle 6 winger with 99th percentile speed, who is 6'2" 220 lbs and physical?

That is mind bending.

Just to be clear anxiety is defined as a state of worry, dread or uneasiness focused on the future.

If an AI model trained on human thought were interacting with humans in the midst of the current environment of global affairs wasn't showing "signs of anxiety" I'd be shocked.

Tree coming in off the top rope with the Kraken trade.

Does it include a 1st?

I think some just diverge more from reality than others.

Oh see, this definitely telegraphs that things are going really well in this super well thought through conflict that they very much planned and contemplated well in advance.

It's almost like the person making the demands doesn't *understand* what he is asking for is impossible.

Running up against the limits of
imagination.

Well they all are though.

Being the dumbest of the bunch is the distinguishing feature.

He's too easily manipulated is the problem.

Then remind yourself that you just spent 2 more seconds contemplating that than anyone in the US administration appears to have.

If Iran has functional ballistic missile launch capability remaining and the Israelis and US (and all of their regional allies) have burnt through most of their defensive munitions, the next phase of the conflict will get dicey quite quickly.

An Iranian ballistic missile has hit Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudis Arabia.

Iran has hit a US Patriot air defence site in the UAE.

If you are wondering why this might be the case, spend 2 seconds contemplating how entangling the US and Israel in a protracted conflict in the Middle East benefits Russia and China.

Pouliot you mean? Glendening has been playing for NJ.

06.03.2026 19:38 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Glendening is still playing at age 36.

Got into 52 games this year!

I don't get how guys who are marginal NHL impact players sustain such bizarrely long careers.

I'd prefer the Leafs ship McMann to Edmonton over Colorado mainly because EDM still has a 2nd rounder in this year's draft while COL only has two 2nd next year.

Neither team has a 1st rounder until 2028, so I'd also prefer a top prospect being included at any rate.

Not gonna lie, lack of Leafs trades feels problematic to me.

Not that I am following anything closely (they probably just made a trade or something).

Yeah the privacy focused stuff is going to focus on encryption to prevent non-state actors from accessing your data.

When the government asks for access? They give it.

How I Would Try To Fix The 2025–26 Toronto Maple Leafs Ok so, this is going to be a bit of a trip β€” and I promise that isn’t entirely intentional. It is just necessary to get to the part where I…

NJD have made it clear all of their D except Hughes and Peace are available for trade.

Leafs should acquire more picks/prospects and flip them for Nemec.

Just saying.

Also I suggested exactly this back at the start of Feb.

Every day I will be talking to my students about something I just think *everyone remembers* then catch myself because *none of them were born yet when it happened*.

Getting old is weird.

I mean JvR is a solid scoring forward and was in his prime. Lupul and Kadri were both skilled also.

Not to mention Grabovski, MacArthur and Kulemin.

Kessel also arguably had more offensive help from the blue line with the likes of Phaneuf, Gardiner, Liles and Franson.

And also directly connected to a couple of corrupt owners who were trying to play with money to protect their illegal maneuvering.

Pocklington and McNall.

Graph from a Sportsnet article on the value of NHL draft picks (that I wrote) showing the value of draft picks relative to a 1st overall pick.

A pick at the end of round 1 is typically worth about 20% of a first overall pick. While a pick at the end of round 2 is typically worth about 10-12% of a first overall pick.

And to answer your earlier question on where the clear dropoff in pick value is, it's actually earlier than 20th generally speaking.

After the first 3 picks, the drop is a fairly smooth curve.

I mean, you could make the same argument for Nylander this year and last.

05.03.2026 22:16 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 3 πŸ“Œ 0

Nylander had 45 goals last year.

Oh and if not for the injury problems this year, Nylander had produced at an 82 game pace of 39 goals and 104 points.

He's considerably more productive as a scorer than Kessel and arguably better defensively.

05.03.2026 22:09 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Phil Kessel had zero seasons in his career where he scored more than 37 goals. His top 4 point totals were 92, 82, 82 and 80 points.

William Nylander has had 3 consecutive seasons of 40+ goals, and his point totals in those 3 years and the 1 immediately preceding were: 80, 87, 98 and 84 pts.
