Ed was an indie filmmaker in an era when it wasn't really possible to be entirely indie.

If he existed in later decades he and his films would be celebrated.

Finished his films quick, under budget, and his cast/crew loved him. Modern indie/microbudget filmmakers should look UP to Ed Wood.

A CarousHELL with nothing???

I'm glad I did the film because of who I met but it was the worst set experience of my (and multiple others) life.

The director is a total schmuck.

He DOES talk to the head guy every year and his foresight is real

I actually felt this with my public domain take. I made a PG Popeye movie where he's the hero and there's no blood, but few of the folks asking for that take on public domain characters supported it.

The horror versions all made WAY more money.

What film is it?

I already beat this challenge back in June 2025. Wally Meets Popeye is the only Popeye film of 2025 that is rated PG and makes Popeye the hero fighting a monster in what is essentially a live action cartoon.

Only interested in this if Phil is a force of powerful good that constantly is fighting back the eldritch horror.
