Mahmood to stop study visas from four countries due to 'abuse' The government will end study visas from Afghanistan, Cameroon, Myanmar and Sudan, due to what she says is abuse.

Afghanistan, Cameroon, Myanmar & Sudan will find their citizens all losing the ability to come here legally on study visas, while Afghanistan is also losing skilled visas.

This is a form of collective punishment and is deeply discriminatory.

Today's speech by the Home Secretary marks a dangerous shift to a system where rights are negotiable, discrimination becomes policy & state coercion is reframed as a cost-cutting measure.

If the Government continues down this path, it will not outflank the far-right but normalise it.

If the person in charge of the Home Office openly and brazenly lies about asylum seekers and refugees, how do we know her employees are not lying in asylum hearings?

In pushing Labour's extreme and hostile anti-asylum and anti-immigration policies the Home Secretary has lied. She has, deliberately or through ignorance, misled the public on fundamental aspects of both. That alone should surely be a resigning matter

The Home Secretary has made claims which are not true regarding migrants to push policies which will devastate lives, while increasing exploitation and people forced into becoming undocumented. These are not policies of "fairness", but instead of discrimination.
