Finally found my white whale yesterday, Azure Dreams. I collect PS1 games but I prefer visiting shops than just ordering them online. This one fell in the category of 'Game I played when I was 13 and never forgot' and was top of my list to find for years.
Now to keep an eye out for Tomba.
