Dear Ava, personally, I am a staunch European, but I am still searching for ways to get Europeans excited about the Union. Perhaps by searching for and then constantly telling inspiring stories to close and wider circle of acquaintances. There are role models out there, after all.

I completely agree. It would be wonderful if we Europeans, each and every one of us, would work toward this vision with words and deeds. The key word would probably be enthusiasm.
