Excited to share our latest study in Nature Communications ✨

We map how cells clear DNA damage–stalled RNA polymerase II using a stepwise TFIIH β†’ ubiquitin/VCP mechanism, keeping transcription and genome stability on track.

Plants use cell-surface and intracellular receptors that collaborate to detect pathogens🦠. We discovered that a key #ubiquitin recognition event recruits both receptor types into an unexpected dual receptor complex that boost the translation of defence proteins and establishes robust #PlantImmunityπŸ‘‡πŸΎ

#TeamTomo visualizes amazing (green πŸ’šβ™»οΈ) proteasome crystals in yeast. This project was a long time coming -- I remember talking to Cordula about it back when I was a postdoc in Martinsried. Some really cool and surprising findings here. Nice to see it out, and congrats to all the authors! πŸ§ͺ πŸ”¬

A CK2-FBXW11 kinase-E3 ubiquitin ligase cascade is a metabolic sensor regulating Tryptophan 2,3-dioxygenase stability Small molecules toggling the ubiquitin-proteasome system (UPS) are powerful regulators of protein degradation. Yet, mechanistic knowledge of how endogenous ligands gate UPS decisions remains rudimenta...
