The times I've tried to become friends with men or spent time with men, please asked me if they were my boyfriend or if I was gay. I present as male and feel non-gender conforming or non-binary. There have been so many time women I started to become friends with freaked out or got super pissed off because they thought I was trying to date them. I grew up around and was raised by a lot of women.

And for any casuals scrolling by, I work in scientific research that routinely gets grants from the National Science Foundation, NIH, and NIEHS.

All of theses grants use a reimbursement system. The feds don't just issue a check. Money has to be spent on allowable items, reviewed, then reimbursed.
