We've been approved for an apartment, so we'll get out of the hotel on the 1st. I'll be relieved to get back to work and have the press back in motion.

A lot of this has been traumatic, but at the moment neither of us has been able to start grieving. We're still in survival mode, I think.

My partner and I made it to Canada, but not without a lot of struggle. For the moment, we're staying in a hotel and searching for a proper place to live. Hopefully, we'll be back online properly soon, and I can go into detail about everything that's happened.

Monthly reminder: Many people have a book in them, but it takes a special kind of freak to leave the Land of Laziness, cross the Plains of Procrastination and Insecurity Mountain, find the Blade of No One Made You Do This, and use it to cut your chest open and yank that book out.

It is not actually in the President's power to unilaterally rescind or modify regulations that were enacted through notice-and-comment.

Maybe FedSoc judges invent a reason for it, but it's not what precedent or the Administrative Procedures Act says. See, e.g., www.arnoldporter.com/en/perspecti...

I've been watching #TLOU reactions from the sidelines. The amount of people saying they no longer want to watch it indicates a major failure in translating the game. Every storytelling medium has it's own needs. A 1:1 translation isn't always possible and shouldn't always be the goal.

Hell yeah! I love this book. It has my favorite depictions of werewolves. I keep talking it up to my partner and hoping they'll read it

and fear mongering. There *should* be strict policies implemented regarding AI, but it should not be shaped by billionaires who have so much money to gain from the ignorance of lawmakers.

that are held together by hope and duct tape behind the scenes. It's the Wizard of Oz, pretending to be magic while really, AI, in it's current state, are just fancy toys for people to be wowed by. These tech bros are basically getting millions from the government by being their own marketing team

officials and tell them to reconsider government contracts with a company that has numerous worker violations. Musk isn't the only one getting access to sensitive government data and exploiting US citizens. These AI companies are siphoning tax payer money to fund poorly run companies

They take advantage of the fact that the government is run by people who don't even know how wifi works and sell themselves as experts of their own products for their own financial and political gain. If there weren't so much other shit to worry about, I'd urge people to contact their state

saying the the government needs to implement policy that he and his have expertise in. Meanwhile, they aren't paying workers and have been called digital sweatshops. I know that AI hate is strong among authors and artists, so I'm preaching to the choir when I say these companies are soulless.

They are completely ignoring the orders of the Department of Labor and anything regarding the EEOC because they think the Trump Admin will save them. Their CEO Alexandr Wang is constantly in congress selling his snake oil and trying to stay relevant regarding AI by talking up it's "dangers" and

Back for a bit. Basically, I was working on a discrimination suit after being fired. I complained to HR about discrimination and then about the subsequent retaliation I faced at the hands of Scale AI. The company is going through the ringer with multiple lawsuits regarding shit practices. 🧡
