"Katerina" by Taras Shevchenko low key reminds me of Ogata. This painting is an illusion to his own poem with the same name. Basically its about a girl who got pregnant from a soldier from Moscow and he left her.

The song Tome Ogata sings is a song named "Toryanse"（通りゃんせ）. It's a song about human sacrifice. There're many songs used its lyrics, for example like Guren Hyakkiyakou of Hatsune Miku or Higure no Komichi.
