Considering her body of work for Disney as the quintessential “Disney Mom” of the era, Vera Miles is long overdue for recognition as a Disney Legend. You can make it happen, Disney! #DisneyLegend

But A TIGER WALKS wasn't Vera Miles's first work with Disney. 14 years earlier on Christmas Day, 1950, Miles appeared uncredited in holiday garb holding a tray of Coca-Cola in Disney's first-ever television production, ONE HOUR IN WONDERLAND (Coke was the program’s sponsor)
A TIGER WALKS, released #OTD 62 years ago (March 12, 1964). was the first of six films that Vera Miles made for Walt Disney Studios. Three of the films were produced during Walt’s lifetime, and he referred to Miles on occasion as “my favorite actress” #WaltDisney #VeraMiles
A huge thanks to Movies at the Boathouse in Tuckerton, NJ for inviting me to introduce its screening of Alfred Hitchcock's THE WRONG MAN and sign copies of my book about Vera Miles.
Join me in Tuckerton, NJ this Friday, March 6 for a screening of Alfred Hitchcock’s only film based closely on true events, THE WRONG MAN! After the screening I’ll discuss the film and the career of the film’s star, Vera Miles, and sign copies of my book! Moviesattheboathouse.com
“Mirror Image,” one of the all-time greatest episodes of THE TWILIGHT ZONE, premiered #OTD 66 years ago (Feb. 26, 1960). Vera Miles stars as a woman who believes that a doppelganger is trying to replace her. Miles only did one episode of #TheTwilightZone, but it was a classic!
Cheers to my local newspaper The Sandpaper for writing about the March 6 film screening of Alfred Hitchcock's THE WRONG MAN in Tuckerton, NJ. After the screening I’ll discuss the film and the career of the film’s star, Vera Miles, and sign copies of my book. For more info: Moviesattheboathouse.com

“I think the most joyous and creative times were the John Ford films… They were high points for me” - Vera Miles
Celebrating John Ford, director of THE SEARCHERS and THE MAN WHO SHOT LIBERTY VALANCE, born Feb. 1, 1894.
“I thought of Artie Green. There was bound to be a New Year's shindig going on in his apartment down in Los Palmas. Writers without a job. Composers without a publisher. Actresses so young they still believe the guys in the casting office. A bunch of kids who didn't give a hoot.” #ClassicHollywood
Merry Christmas! On this day 75 years ago Vera Miles appeared uncredited in holiday garb holding a tray of Coca-Cola in Disney's first-ever television production, ONE HOUR IN WONDERLAND (Coke was the program’s sponsor) #WaltDisney #VeraMiles @wdfmuseum.bsky.social
In her feature film debut for Hitchcock, Vera Miles stars as Fonda’s emotionally embattled wife. The stark, street-level approach to the film was unique for Hitchcock, and THE WRONG MAN remains a powerful story about the struggle for justice against all odds #Hitchcock #VeraMiles #HenryFonda
On this day 69 years ago, Alfred Hitchcock’s THE WRONG MAN premiered in New York City. Hitchcock’s only film based on true events, THE WRONG MAN stars Henry Fonda as a musician who is wrongfully accused of robberies but cannot produce a sufficient alibi to prove his innocence #TheWrongMan
Hitchcock set PSYCHO in December because of the Christmas decorations that briefly appear in the second unit footage filmed in Phoenix.
(Let’s avoid starting a “Is PSYCHO a Christmas movie?” debate…)

And once again, I’ll add that considering her body of work for Disney as the quintessential “Disney Mom” of the era, Vera Miles is long overdue for recognition as a Disney Legend. Make it happen, Disney ! #DisneyLegend
Vera Miles starred in the final Walt Disney Studios picture released in Walt Disney’s lifetime, FOLLOW ME, BOYS! It was released on December 1, 1966, just two weeks before Walt’s passing. It was also the first Disney movie featuring longtime studio star Kurt Russell #WaltDisney #KurtRussell
On this day 124 years ago, Walt Disney was born. The Walt Disney Company Archives has preserved Walt’s office at the Burbank studio. If you get a chance to visit, you’ll see a copy of the Disney company magazine with Vera Miles on the cover on a desk. Walt referred to Miles as “My favorite actress.”

Great find! A family member found a cassette of CHOO CHOO HOT FISH, the 1992 album from rockabilly legends STRAY CATS. As I wrote about it in my book HOWLING TO THE MOONLIGHT ON A HOT SUMMER NIGHT: THE TALE OF THE STRAY CATS, the album features some overlooked tunes from the trio #rockabilly
