America has a long history of pointless and wasteful military adventurism. And in our quest to normalize Trump we’ve stuck his Iran war in that box: “another war, just like the rest.” It’s not like the rest. It’s an act of insanity, rogue state behavior. Don’t know how this ends until we admit it.
Having faced no consequences for anything, Trump has noticed that he has the world’s largest military at his command, and believes he has found a brilliant solution for solving problems that no one before him was smart enough to discover: just kill everyone in your way, until they obey you.
This is why it is more important to have experts than sycophants as advisors.

Maybe this is just me, but I kind of think massive military operations, in which we're demanding unconditional surrender as the outcome, probably should be authorized by Congress.
The two types of people around Trump at this point who are sycophants because they are sycophants, and those who are sycophants because they want to use him. He has cut himself off from the people who would give him more objective advice and information.
