He would transcribe birdsong too, and would mark the manuscript with names of the birds he'd just ripped off ;)
His orchestral pieces are stunning, in particular Turangalila Symphony and Les Couleurs de la Cité Céleste.
His scores are very interesting, he had chromesthesia, and would write the colours that he saw in the music on the manuscript.
He's such a fantastic composer.
