A shitty map created by ChatGPT5. it purports to be US States with an R in their name, but it's wrong and dumb and worthless just like LLMs.
My goto is to ask LLMs how many states have R in their name. They always fail. GPT 5 included Indiana, Illinois, and Texas in its list. It then asked me if I wanted an alphabetical highlighted map. Sure, why not.

Air France and KLM confirm customer data stolen in third-party breach
Both airlines said the data leak originated with a third party supplier
My latest for @itpro.com : If you've interacted with Air France or KLM's customer service platform you might have had your email and/or phone number stolen it seems, as the companies are warning users to beware of phishing emails and scam calls following a data breach.

An executive producer at Xbox Games Studios told laid off staff to use AI for counseling, and itβs the most ludicrous thing Iβve ever seen in my life
In the immediate aftermath of Microsoft layoffs, promoting AI careers advice feels supremely cold
π @rosswritesetc.bsky.social thinks the post is the most ill-timed thing he's ever witnessed on LinkedIn.
β Worse still, it shows how the human impact of layoffs is often overlooked. Lives are turned upside down. Viewing it as an opportunity to improve networking skills completely misses the mark.

If you use AI for your product video, I respect your company less
Synthetic product shots and presenter videos donβt just create a bad first impression β they toxify your entire brand
Fully expected to be too lazy to skeet again until Eurovision 2026, but I saw this from the ever-excellent @itpro.com and had to share. Please for the love of god stop putting AI-gen rhinos in your newsletters. www.itpro.com/technology/a...

The step-up in anti-migrant rhetoric from the government is shameful and dangerous.
Migrants are our neighbours, friends and family.
To suggest that Britain risks becoming βan island of strangersβ because of immigration mimics the scaremongering of the far-right.

Iβve known Robert Prevost for years as one of the main figures in online TMNT fandom, where no one has a bad word to say about him. He probably wonβt have as much time to contribute to Turtles wikis with his new gig but I though his choice of βPope Leoβ was a lovely nod to the community

Bigger salaries, more burnout: Is the CISO role in crisis?
CISOs are more stressed than ever before β but why is this and what can be done?
π‘ CISOs might be earning more, but that's little solace for many. Rising security threats, increased pressure, and longer hours mean they're more stressed than ever.
β But what can be done to remedy the issue? @kateoflaherty.bsky.social explores how security leaders are adapting and thriving.

Fairly woeful coverage of net zero on Today this morning. Framing the energy transition as a "cost" to taxpayers (versus what?) ignores the far greater efficiency of renewables & fact that physics doesn't care about shifting political sentiment

The use of AI in job applications has been rising in recent months, research shows
π‘ Anthropic has become one of the leading firms in the burgeoning AI industry and has scaled rapidly in recent years, but it's facing a big problem when hiring β candidates keep using AI to help with job applications.

Microsoft says AI tools such as Copilot or ChatGPT are affecting critical thinking at work β staff using the technology encounter 'long-term reliance and diminished independent problem-solving'
AI tools might be convenient for workers, but there's a risk they'll become too reliant in the future
Becoming too reliant on AI tools at work? You might want to take a step back.
Popular tools such as Copilot or ChatGPT may impact the critical thinking skills of employees - and that's according to research from Microsoft.

Nuclear data centers are a waste of time β even as AI power demand skyrockets
Ambition on energy doesnβt keep the lights on and hyperscalers should focus on reliable renewables rather than the false hope of a new nuclear age
β’οΈ Big tech investment in nuclear energy for data centers is on the rise β but @rorybathgate.bsky.social argues that nuclear power is simply too slow to meet the pace of AI development and not even a source of reliable power

I love magic links β why arenβt more services using them?
Using magic links instead of passwords is safe and easy but theyβre still infuriatingly underused by businesses
π ITPro's @itssol.bsky.social has been using magic links as an alternative to passwords for some time now, and he's convinced they're the best option in terms of efficacy, efficiency, and security.
