Been a loong time since I posted anything here. Kinda lost motivation to do anything creative for a while. But had a bit of a spark lately that led to this little guy. First motion test trying to make "pixel art" with 3D assets.

What are those two mech games? Love the aesthetic.
Hard to say by this picture alone, so I'm just guessing. But it looks like you might be painting directly on the UVs and the face part of the UV unwrap is upside down.

Guardian Rathalos fight was so good. Love seeing how they evolved his move set. The king has come a long way. Really loving MH Wilds so far.
The painting tools in blender are really basic and limiting. So this feature allows you to snap a screenshot of your model and send it to an external program like Photoshop (or krita in my case). You can paint on top over there with much better tools, then apply those changes directly to your model.
I'm sorry, blender has an option to do what now?
That whole convoluted setup I was doing recently with the UVs can apparently be done super simply with this built in feature that's hidden way down at the bottom of the tool panel. Easy texture projection painting in external applications!

Well, I did a test with the method I was talking about... And it works... but.... probably not at all worth the extra effort it takes.
Blender just seriously needs a texture painting overhaul.

Yo, hear me out though. I'm kinda cookin with this UV idea.
Project UVs from view, render from the same view, take render into external painting program, paintover model, texture model with the paintover using projected UVs and bake back onto original UV unwrap. Should work right?
