Pretty much every anticheat will shit a brick over procmon until you restart. I've had it happen with xigncode3 EAC probably some others too. Half the time i don't even remember when i opened procmon or what i was using it for as i don't really restart often.

Multihit WS are in a fairly poor spot compared to stuff you can just frontload WSD on and they're limited to a single damage type. They're not quite as bad as the community likes to think but they've been better.

If that's a barrier you can submit a GM call in game through the help desk. I have heard of people successfully sorting broken transfers through that.

If you logged in too early after a transfer you can kinda break it. A gm can fix it but it's afaik a manual process.

Steam just gives you a regular key so don't feel particularly forced to buy it in either place if one is more convenient for some reason. It's not like xiv where you actually get locked to anything.
