I saw them in San Francisco on that tour and even then they hardly played anything from it. Criminally neglected.
One of my favourites of theirs but kind of the Bunnymen album that is not ok to like. Tensions were high in the band and it's very nearly an Ian solo album with appearances by Will.
Front cover of Philadelphia International Classics: The Tom Moulton Remixes. Tom Moulton was just as important a name in the development of dance remixes we know them today as the Jamaican originators such as King Tubby and Lee "Scratch" Perry.

Seek this out if like Philly Soul and/or extended mixes. 4 CDs worth of tastefully done extended versions by the legendary Tom Moulton supplying fresh takes on some songs that you've heard a thousand times and others perhaps never before. #CDFriday
A Cadillac with a Ferrari engine. Strange bedfellows...
Saw a mockup of the car last August at Pebble Beach.

You spoke to Jack White and he recommended they listen to Ministry.
Spoke this week to a great US singer & songwriter, who at 1 point said, "I'd like to lock some of these right-wing politicians in a room & make them listen to [REDACTED] for a week & see how their brains change. Listening to [X] would definitely change them." Any guesses who they were talking about?
Jonathan Richman.
We'd all probably be better off after a week of that.
That's a great track.
I recall the original CD had indexes that allowed you to skip to specific parts of songs. This was the only non-classical release I was aware of at the time that utilized that feature. Unfortunately, I no longer have the disc nor a player that offers indexing.
That's going straight to your thighs.
Woody Guthrie?
I've been looking forward to a new #Tomora.

"Take the Skinheads Bowling" by Camper Van Beethoven.
You might have received a reply sooner by asking Andrew. ๐
The audio tracks will play on a standard CD player. It's that pesky analogue video portion that is now elusive.
These reaction videos can be hit or miss. But I enjoyed watching this Gen Z influencer get his mind warped by the #NewOrder "Blue Monday 1988" music video.

New Order "True Faith" single in CDV format.
The tracklisting includes the "True Faith" 12", "Evil Dust" [an instrumental remix of Brotherhood track "Angel Dust"], "True Faith" 7" and the "True Faith music video.
New Order "Blue Monday 1988" single in CDV format. The remix was commissioned by their U.S. label boss Quincy Jones, but John Potoker did most of the work.
The tracklisting incluedes "Blue Monday 1988" 12 inch, "Beach Buggy" [an alternative 1988 remix by the original version's engineer, Michael Johnson], "Blue Monday 1988" 7 inch [a unique, slightly different mix] and the "Blue Monday 1988" music video.
These singles were released on the short-lived CD Video/CDV format (digital audio, analogue video). I didn't own a LaserDisc player but a friend graciously copied them (along with some CDVs of The Cure) onto a VHS tape for me at the time. #WeekendSingles
1986 Factory issue CD of Joy Division's debut album.
Unknown Pleasures CD Car Carry Case
1986 Factory issue CD of Joy Division's second album.
Closer CD Car Carry Case
My original Unknown Pleasures and Closer #JoyDivision CDs purchased nearly 40 years ago. Factory included extra sleeves to transport the discs so you wouldn't have to lug those bulky jewel cases around.
Each year that they're nominated for the Rock Hall, I care less and less about it. #CDFriday
Looks like he made it.
Absolutely.
And I would add Cocteau Twins, Lloyd Cole and Depeche Mode to that list.
This administration is going to make us all die penniless.
A sign outside Paddy Smith Park at the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds. It is located betwixt the JJ Crosetti Building and the Model Railroad Exhibit.
Not really related but today I learned of this park that's on the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds.
I can imagine the conversations. "No, it's not named after THAT Patti Smith. No, it's not named after that one either..."
A quilt depicting various dinosaurs. Just like grandma used to make.
On a related note, my girlfriend and I found ourselves at the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds today for a quilt show (a friend has a booth selling her custom t-shirts).
The event wasn't really my thing but I saw this quilt and thought of you:

The most beautiful blonde ever to grace the music scene, the greatest frontwoman and my favorite singer!

I'd swear I read in addition to his involvement with A Certain Ratio, Andy had at one point been a roadie for Joy Division. Whether he did this as a one-off (like Phil Oakey of The Human League) or ongoing I'm unsure. It seems plausible but there could also be confusion with Andy Robinson.

Probably not a Vampire.
Lol Tolhurst regaling the Henry Miller Memorial Library crowd with tales of his misadventures.
Lol and Cindy Levinson performing towards the end of the event.
I bought a book for him to sign and waited in line. When it was my turn, he opened the book, looked at me and said "Oh, it's already signed", his eyes politely resisting a roll. Hopefully I'm not the only idiot to do that.
I went to a Lol Tolhurst event at the Henry Miller Memorial Library (Yes, it's still called that. Don't tell you-know-who) in Big Sur last year so will probably skip this one.
...unless you mean the building on Will's poster. I have no idea where that is. I just wanted to use Jurassic references to tease about how you playfully stalk him. You actually seem relatively harmless for an apex predator.
Heading towards Santa Barbara, California via Highway 154.
A cozy, mid-century style room at the Palihouse Santa Barbara.
Cloudy skies along the Santa Barbara waterfront after poking around The Funk Zone. No, I didn't eat at the taco truck.
A view from the Santa Barbara Courthouse Bell tower.
The weather was variable once arriving in Santa Barbara but there are always indoor activites *wink, wink* (eating). For coffee, go to Santa Barbara Roasting Company. Had some more yummy Italian food at Arnoldi's Cafe too.
Of course the weather was fantastic on Wednesday when we were leaving...
Hijacking this thread for a travelogue.
Pismo Beach was a little wet on Monday morning.
