i think a lot about how our most popular media is about antifascism (Star Wars, Hunger Games, Star Trek, Babylon 5, Avatar, etc.), but people don't learn the lessons. I regretfully came to the conclusion it's all spectacle and catharsis, like riding a roller coast as a proxy for true adventure.

There was MUCH less evidence for antisemitism from Mamdani than there is from Platner, but the fact that some Jews had concerns led Mamdani to do lots of Jewish outrage, meet with Jews, go to synagogues, and such. Platner is notably not doing that.
