Anyway, it was hilarious getting told I was going to hell for simply walking into a cannabis shop.

As an addendum - there's also the irony of how misogynistic anti-abortion protesters are. Even the women who don't know that they are.
It's like some people just fundamentally hate when other people are happy choosing what's right for them. I honestly don't understand those unhappy people.
Ooh - you are a delight, my dear. ๐ฝ๐
Iโm a big believer that people should get to make their own choices when it comes to drug use - both the chemical and the various natural kinds.
But. Itโs awfully funny how some of the most vocally anti-weed people are also some of the most angry and stressful people out there.

Oof. While I can understand the impetus behind this sentiment (for example, I have experienced some ridiculous misogyny from a couple of very entitled afab NB folks) โฆ being divided and creating more division does more to support homophobia and oppression than to make anything better for us.
Itโs also deeply hypocritical and morally questionable at best how so many corporations are happy to profit from rainbow money - while then turning around and either actively or tacitly discriminating against queer folks in a myriad of ways.
Itโs nice to see the gay hockey series having its moment and I am happy for the Canadians I know who worked on the show to finally be getting some level of international recognition and successโฆ but womenโs hockey has historically had way more lesbian players, with less funding and less recognition.
Itโs honestly ridiculous how disproportionate it is that media made by and about queer cis men gets so much more funding and attention than wlw and sapphic mediaโฆ especially projects that donโt feature thin, young, conventionally attractive women who still inherently pander to the male gaze.
I just saw a post that sadly I canโt comment on - essentially, the author pointed out how Heated Rivalry sells queerness back to us through a privileged, corporate lens while the rest of us queer artists who donโt have the same platform and amplification are getting priced out of staying alive.

But professional makeup artist, key hair, wardrobe stylist, etc will otherwise run a company 1K+ easily. Plus your non-compensated rehearsal, prep, and travel time, plus the cost of your materials (makeup, wardrobe), plus $$$$$$ that the corporation makes off your image - it just doesn't make sense.
If you're just starting out in the biz, $100/hr probably seems like an incredible rate for commercial work.
And I know that in this economy - especially for us working artists who don't have regular joe jobs to fall back on - it can be tempting to take whatever contracts get sent your way.
I dunno what emerging actor needs to hear this right now, but a gig that pays $100/hr with no residuals for infinite internet usage - where the producers of the gig also expect you to provide your own hair, makeup, and wardrobe styling - is nowhere near a reasonable rate for your talent and time.
