Sorry, I understand your message, but this would require a spine.
This is why I say that capitalism always ends in fashism. If capital = power and capital generates more capital you are in a constant power struggle between the capital and the people which the capital eventually wins.
Something a lot of "centrists" fail to understand when they argue that "people ought to obey the law" is that the law is neither infallible nor perfect. There is no moral imperative to obey a flawed law.
Wide range of vocabulary isn't honestly all that important though.
Rather than being the arbiter of what qualifies as a "good book", it's a lot easier to point out the bad ones. That is, the ones that just reinforce stereotypes, hail the military and glorify billionaires.
I think books are powerful, but the solution is not "just read", but instead "read good books!"
True, but that's mostly the 80h work week. not the "generic reading"
I do think a healthy consumption habit is to mix different media as it does different things for our brain. Video Games, Shows, Books, Youtube, etc. However, I still don't think that is linked to empathy.
The same applies to watching a series. Which brings me to the direction of, it's not reading that matters, but reading the right things.
How does reading increase critical thinking and empathy compared to say watching a Netflix series?
Don't get me wrong, I think reading is good and it's definitely healthy if people switch some of their TV time to reading time. I just don't see any link to people being less romantic/smart because they're reading less nowadays. The inverse maybe. Romantic people are maybe more likely to read.
less important for what?
and yet I doubt 90s adult men were more romantic due to it. My dad would read bad western novels. Nerds like myself would read lord of the rings, it helps with writing, but it I doubt there is a causal relationship to education or romance
What was the time period where men were reading a lot though?
Looking for new laptops. Is there anything in the world leftover that is not being enshittified by AI?
It's time to acknowledge, Distributed Systems has a toxic reviewers problem.
Yes, the main discussion point and policy discussion point is on immigration and not on integration.
Ah yes, it seemed like this was one of the listed economic issues. Although I do guess the debate around immigration is causing economic issues =P
wdym with economic issues re immigration?
Every time I get a paper review back that clearly indicates the reviewer did not even properly skim the paper I resent the way we do peer review a little bit more.
Such an amazing time to look for a job being a postdoc.
@proton.me could we have a landscape version of the proton calendar android app? =D
่ฝใกใ means to fall, not only can you see a person falling from the platform in its kanji. But you can vividly imagine the ooooo sound while they're falling (ochiru)
I'm currently studying japanese because I like to suffer and I'd like to share my fun little memory tricks.
(you can look up the writing yourself)
"tada" in japanese means "free", because magic was necessary to make it free. And because the magic trick looked simple, it also means "simply".
Providing homeless people with housing reduces crime, increases employment, improves health, and does not increase reliance on social benefits. 80% of costs are offset by the benefits in the first 18 months.

Started doing vocab cards on Anki for Japanese.
After a week now, I feel 15 new Japanese words/Kanji a day is maybe a bit much though =D
We've been band-aid fixing our global systems for a couple of decades now! Why should we stop now? The room is on fire, okay, but aside from that?

Shouldn't be too hard to mixin into the renderer as it's an entity and you're just applying colors to it.
You could also have a tier that allows people to request a color scheme.
