We stand with our friends @roseroomco.bsky.social and urge the @washingtonspirit.com to reconsider their decision to not host a game celebrating the Black DMV community, especially in a time when its needed most.

With other teams finding a way to celebrate the Black community, nothing is not a choice, @washingtonspirit.com.

You had a Black centric theme night for a couple of years that was well programmed and received. Given the climate we live, to actively decide not to do it or replicate it elsewhere, communicates a specific message - intended or unintended.

The ref deciding on 4 minutes of stoppage time in the second half of extra time in the 2016 final is probably the refereeing lore that haunts me the most to this day (Matt Franz was the center official and when I heard his name announced as the ref for the 2021 semi in Seattle I had a PTSD response)

Her SIL was able to call her before she got snatched so she was able to rush to the house to get the baby before anything worse happened and she is now caring for her 6 week old niece in addition to her 4 month old baby. Her brother’s in California now but they don’t know where her SIL is atm

They knew the infant was in the car. One of the agents moved the car from the road into their driveway and then left the keys to the car on the front porch of their house. This is on video. They said later there was nothing wrong with leaving the baby in the car b/c “It wasn’t hot outside”

I just heard the brother and sister in law of one of my team members was picked up by ICE in Baltimore late last week. Her brother is a US citizen, her SIL is from El Salvador. The assholes snatched them leaving their house and LEFT THEIR 6 WEEK OLD DAUGHTER ALONE IN THE CAR when they left the scene
