A privatized Mount Allison? St. Thomas merging with UNB? Closing down UniversitΓ© de Moncton campuses in the only officially bilingual province? Doesn't feel like the NB government sees robust, public university options as a priority which...is not a good sign. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...
The documentary about Aaron Kinch, titled "Bodysnatcher," is now available on Bell Fibe. It traces his ring career through the amateurs, pros, and ultimately a workplace injury that saw him champion paraboxing in Canada. Rumble, Aaron, rumble.

Rumble, Vladyslav Heraskevych, rumble. Leaves the Olympics with his integrity intact. www.bbc.com/sport/articl...
Haiti had to change their uniforms to meet IOC political neutrality protocol, while USA gets to bring ICE. Haiti's uniforms celebrated the toppling of a colonial regime. The USA's thugs uphold such a regime. The IOC is always so disappointing.

Human rights and mega events don't mix.
We've known about Wasserman's connection to Epstein for years now. Maybe now folks will ask some hard questions regarding that relationship. www.sportandpolitics.de/the-epstein-...

A 1906 film of George Dixon boxing with a fellow named Chester Leon for the mutoscope. Dixon of Halifax, NS, was the first Black champion of the world. How much of this bout is staged for the camera is difficult to say. What do you think of this knockdown?

Canada can't co-host FIFA 2026 with the USA and pretend that the event is in any way a boon to human rights. Our involvement was ill considered from the outset. At what point do we, as a nation, admit that these mega events are harmful and cease our complicity in those harms?
2/2 Her advice, compassion, and support was so wonderful and selfless. I know she did the same for many others. As a politician, she refused to put the party before the people, following her moral compass regardless how much pressure was placed upon her from above. A rare and incredible person.
1/2 Really sad to hear about the passing of Kirsty Duncan. Considered her a friend. She didn't just help me understand the sport system, she was an important pillar of support when I was going through some tough times as an academic.
Didn't see that coming www.theguardian.com/football/202...

Neighborhood watch is taking on a new form in Minneapolis and other cities under occupation by federal immigration agents: ICE Watch.
These folks, who're tailing federal agents as they make arrests, are passionate, determined, and just about everywhereβand ICE is getting frustrated.
