He says it in the Post article. Mangonui's Misinformation Man is at it all the time. He just lies and lies.
Australia has shown how subsidising solar works. Itโs not a concept, itโs already been achieved in the real world. Yet NAF coalition govt.? โNah, LNG imports mateโ. Who voted for these people? Seriously? Talk about BAD decision making ๐ณ. Their economic mismanagement will reverberate for years #nzpol
Now feels like a good time to remember that Big Oil is the reason why we're still hooked on dirty, dangerous fossil fuels.
The industry's lies have essentially stolen a generationโs worth of time that we could have used to transition to cleaner, safer energy sources.
Itโs time for accountability.
A corker of a sunset in broad lurid pink and orange streaks against the last blue of the day - the colours reflected back by the beach at low tide, for double the impact.
A fella in silhouette attempting to photograph tonightโs glorious sunset: to the left, long ripples of brilliant orange clouds, radiating from where the sun has just dipped below the horizon; to the right, a more demure mix of pink and purple-grey fluffy stuff.
Sunset washing out, now just a long low smear of salmon outlining the hills, and matching underlighting on the edges of the clouds above, with everything else fading into blue and greyโฆ all reflected in the wet sand of a low-tide beach. Intermittent lights of cars and houses along the horizon, like glow worms.
Meanwhile at the north end of the beach, where the sky is still a fluffy quilt of pink and blue, lads are being lads and setting off fireworks to and from the pontoon, stranded at low tide. In the background, the โpointโ of Point Chevalier (Rangi-mata-rau), sandstone cliffs held together by gnarly old pลhutukawa and topped by rickety old pines.
Someone had the paintbox out tonightโฆ ๐จ
Have you tried Shot Espresso (Fulham and other locations)? My son used to manage the cafes. They used Allpress beans. Was a favorite of AoNZ/Aus/Italian & Pons in the know. Customers came from all around London. Can't vouch for the brew now, but it was damn fine in 2017 when we were last there.
Reaching net zero by 2050 is often framed as a cost burden.
The UK Climate Change Committeeโs latest analysis suggests the opposite.
The real risk is fossil fuel dependency.
We're governed by morons: "โฆas President Trump weighed whether to launch military attacks on Iran, Chris Wright, the energy secretary, told an interviewer he was not concerned that the looming war might disrupt oil supplies in the Middle East and wreak havoc in energy markets."

'Brazil has had [school meals] for 70 years, and its programme is considered an international gold standard.
It has lifted millions of children out of malnutrition over the past few decades.
Its national food insecurity rates are now lower than New Zealandโs.'
3 Australians involved.
We failed to avert dangerous climate change. That has consequences. Here I discuss three that, alas, no government seems to want to publicly acknowledge. My latest for Technosphere Earth

Vicious, rich, soulless arseholes.. this is direct from the Atlas manual. People will die because of this.
Expect more of this before the election, People. Their voter base loves it and they are emboldened to make your lives miserable.
Why?
Because we can!
IT IS NOT THE JOB OF A PUBLIC BROADCASTER IN A DEMOCRACY TO REPORT THE NEWS IN A WAY THE GOVERNMENT LIKES. IT IS ESPECIALLY NOT OKAY FOR MINISTERS AND POLITICALLY-APPOINTED BOARD MEMBERS TO DICATE INDIVIDUAL EDITORIAL DECISIONS. THIS SHOULD BE FUCKING OBVIOUS.

Fairly high up the list of attributes required from a Prime Minister is "good in a crisis". Then there's this fool saying whatever comes into his head. www.rnz.co.nz/news/politic...
At anything, really. In fact, everything!
He's really, really, incredibly, bad at this.

โWe apparently no longer have the courage to speak freely in support of our values and interests as a sovereign nation.
Our first priority has become to avoid attracting the attention of the playground bully.โ - Phil Goff.
โAs a free-market think tank, the Taxpayersโ Unionโs principles are clear, and it has declared its association with the global Atlas Network umbrella group.โ
โAnd what about its direct influence on politicians and policy?โ
A good question that media donโt seem to be asking ahead of the NZ election.
This is New Zealand.
โSurvivor 'angry and saddened' as number of young people abused in care increases. The Independent Children's Monitor's latest report said 530 tamaraki and rangatahi were abused in state care during the 2024/25 year, up from 507 during the 2023/24 year.โ #nzpol
I'd like to report a double homicide
Trump on Iranian leadership: "They're crazy. Just like the people to my right during the State of the Union. I looked at them and said, 'You're crazy.' These people are crazy."
And that was long ago.... Itโs deteriorated significantly since then.

The Auckland Astronomical Society provided one of the streams during #Slooh's Star Party. Totality was awesome but this was the moment for me: darkness disappearing over Tycho, Copernicus and Kepler plus Aristarchus gleaming brightly. Hope and stability.
