Sure, but unless you are paying extra for that broadcast, you are then making everyone else pay for the licence fee even though they aren't watching it.

No, that's not true. You need the licence for anything BBC or live TV. You can safely watch netflix or YouTube (avoid live broadcasts from TV channels) without a licence.

Just ignore them. Chances of them coming to your house are low, and you don't have to talk to them if they do.
