As important as your passion project may be to you, don’t pull all nighters on it. Don’t hurt yourself in the long-term just to get your art out sooner.

I'll never forget when I got a taste of my own medicine during Avengers: Infinity War. I was so invested in every little emotion of that movie, but the audience I was with laughed at tragic scenes and some guy even yelled out a quip during one of the saddest parts of the movie.

Thankfully, I'd almost always stay silent in theaters, but I'd often ruin serious scenes when watching movies with friends.

Nowadays, I am dead silent watching serious scenes in movies and I thankfully actually let myself get engrossed in any emotion a movie is trying to convey.

I used to be one of those people years ago and I deeply regret that mindset. I was so afraid of any sincere emotion that I felt I had to respond to every serious scene in movies in some way that diffused the emotion. You're so right: I was so afraid of actually facing art and feeling something.

One thing that's going to rapidly age me into a disgruntled old man is people laughing uproariously at inappropriate times in movie theaters. Independent theaters FOR serious movie lovers.
When a movie is serious or sincere, is facing art so uncomfortable for you that you just laugh? I don't know?
