Reactions like that annoy me. Nudity is not inherently sexual. A lot of anime and manga of the time tended to use artistic nudity when they wanted characters to be raw. How anyone can be an anime/manga fan with a puritan mindset is beyond me.

Along the way, there will always be obstacles, and Ruby has to face her fears: losing friends, something unbearable, and not being strong enough, doubting her techniques. Ruby fears involving her friends in trouble and them getting hurt. The loss of color in her hair reinforces the weight she carries; Ruby's doubts aren't a change for no reason. Basically, she carries the weight of everything.
