Something confuses me about AI art, but I know if I ask I will never receive a sincere answer, so it’s annoying. Why do AI “artists” say that they are the ones creating, when they are telling a program what to make? When a commissioner tells me what to draw, that doesn’t make them the artist

a custom character design from earlier this year...a lizard girl automaton abandoned by her maker has stopped functioning "as intended" and now creates metal artworks from the energy wellspring that is her body. i love being able to have this kind of creative freedom with these design commissions ❤️🔥
it’s so wild! it seems like this poor baby may have been abandoned which also makes no sense to me. glad she just didn’t become roadkill, i see so many flattened cats just driving around portland and am shocked people still let their cats out around traffic
