That… was certainly a game. 76ers get a desperately needed win to avoid slipping out of the 6th spot. Maxey + Grimes were just good enough. Bona filled in nicely, and they frankly don’t win without Jabari Walker: 22 & 10, 4/7 from 3. 1st back-to-back 20-pt games of his career.

Man, Jabari Walker is lighting it up. 4/4 from three tonight, with 15 points in just under 7 minutes of play.
I think a lot of noise surrounding this team has drowned out some of the Dominick Barlow hype. The guy is legit — long frame, embraces the dirty work. I also don’t think he’s quite right from the elbow thing, and he’s still playing good ball. Plenty of untapped potential at 22.

The way people consume content and media these days is unsettling. There’s no room to explore an issue from multiple angles or have a nuanced conversation. Instead, they latch onto a single point — one tweet, one quote — and feel compelled to box you into one side or the other.
Just a brutal half of basketball. The Sixers are shorthanded, they look gassed again, and there are just terrible defensive breakdowns left and right. To make matters worse, VJ is hobbling around after a really hard foul.
The Sixers are putting Andre Drummond on Wemby. It’s gone about as well as you’d expect.
Geeking out over the throwback Sixers-Spurs broadcast. Maybe I’m a sucker for nostalgia, but this is so freaking cool. Just adds a totally different layer to the presentation.

These are the kinds of games that prove whether G League production is the real deal. 16/21 as a guard or wing is absurdly efficient.
Pretty amazing that he iced the game with a three after going through that. From what I understand, injuries like that are especially painful at first. Missing three games isn’t terrible, but the timing is tough with two highly competitive matchups coming up.
Pretty awesome: NBC will recreate a 1995-96 NBA broadcast for Spurs-76ers on March 3 — announcers, graphics, replays, pregame show, score bug and even grainy flashbacks.

I think the Embiid-VJ relationship is such an interesting dynamic we haven’t focused on yet. For VJ, it has to mean everything to be embraced by Embiid and Maxey. And for Embiid, having a rookie consistently stand up for him probably means more than people realize.
Another good half of basketball from the Maxey-VJ-Embiid trio, who combined for 53 points. Up 16 heading into halftime… let’s see how the 3rd quarter goes.

Sixers take care of business, and finish this three game road trip 2-1. Maxey, Edgecombe, and Embiid combined for 82 points on 57.6% shooting tonight. Another double digit performance from Grimes (15) too.
Convincing third quarter for the Sixers, who won that period 31-20. Tyrese Maxey, again, with a big line: 32 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists, 3 stocks — firmly on triple-double watch.
Man, Trendon Watford with the worst foul of the year. 0.5 until halftime, and he fouls Nembhard about 70 feet from the basket. No clue what he was thinking there.
Post-PTO Grimes is moving different. Literally, this guy has so much more burst. 19 points last game, already up to 9 points tonight.
Love what I’m seeing from Adem Bona as of late. Feels like he’s finally adjusted to NBA speed. He’s keeping fouls in check, and making a lot of good contests.
