Fascinating to watch GOP change gears, away from free trade and toward what looks like nanny statism

Emmanuel Damas, a Boston resident and asylum seeker from Haiti who entered the United States legally, was killed by ICE. He leaves behind two sons.
No matter what city councilors tell you, gentrifiers do not ride buses. Senior citizens, students, and workers in the medical centers do.
Let's get this money spent.
Markwayne Mullin is so fucking stupid, I predict the White House promotes him to DHS Secretary or some other Cabinet role.
He’s a once in a generation dullard. Such stupidity must be rewarded in keeping with MAGA first principles.

I did not learn until today that the cannons Henry Knox and his men had gotten across Massachusetts intentionally "appeared" on Dorchester Heights intentionally on March 5, as a remembrance of the Boston Massacre.
That's a memorial. Damn.
I’ve come to learn Boston is a tough city you be chronically horny in because most of the options are college students (no) or finance gays (also no)
"Does every American family need a dietitian appointed by the government to tell them that this food is going to make you fat and this food is not?” -Sean Hannity, 2010, about Michelle Obama's nutrition agenda
Well well well, if it isn’t the people who suck doing some more shit that sucks
Dorchfest, the community’s porch fest-style musical celebration that has quickly become a beloved Dot Day tradition, returns to the Ashmont-Adams section of the neighborhood for a fifth season on Sat., June 6.

Map of the armies’ positions around Boston
Howe
March 5, 1776 (Morning): British Gen. William Howe awakes to learn the American Army has overnight occupied Dorchester Heights above Boston and fortified it with cannon. “The rebels have done more in one night than my whole army would have done in months,” he is reported to say in astonishment. 1/7
The Boston Globe asks, "When did Southie get richy-rich?"
Want to know why Southie upscaled so rapidly? Why Southie's blue collar workforce (typically two units in each triple-decker) moved? Why current renters will be slammed?
It's not rocket science. www.bostonglobe.com/2026/03/05/n...
This is how you write a goddamn headline.
250 YEARS AGO: As other cannon bomb Boston, 800 Patriots sneak near a Redcoat post on Boston Neck, in case they attack the 1,200 men now moving Henry Knox's cannon up to the unoccupied Dorchester Heights. The Patriots use hay bales to muffle their sound. Talking is forbidden. Will they be spotted?
DORCHESTER, MASSACHUSETTS: A mist blocks the view from Boston of the Continental Army soldiers fortifying Dorchester Heights, but on the hill’s slopes conditions are clear, allowing the soldiers to work under a bright, full moon:
Mr. Kennedy, sir. Another call from Dorchester. He says he's "got your brain worm right here." No it's a different Sean this time
The White House has helped MAGA influencers escape the Middle East on a private jet while more than a million ordinary Americans are still trapped with no way out.
wow first Iran and now the US has declared an unprovoked war on New England
Every time I am in boston and turn my teeth to powder in some blind two foot deep pothole I thank god the city backs the blue enough to pay them like investment bankers
People on a green highway overpass behind a chain link fence holding up letters that spell out: WAR CRIMES DONT HIDE SEX CRIMES There is a brown triple decker in the background
Dorchester has entered the chat.

Bostonians are weird in that some express civic pride by loudly supporting AND others do the same by loudly opposing events like this but ignore them both.
The only thing that matters is Republicans losing in 2028.

A roughly seven foot tall snow tower stands in front of the Walter Baker Chocolate Factory office building in Boston
Spiral stairs lead to the top of the snow tower. Brick mill buildings stand in the background.
Looking south past the snow tower toward Adams Street and Milton Hill
The view from the top of the snow tower showing stairs and Dorchester Lower Mills
I wondered, as I climbed the icy steps of this snow sculpture lookout tower in Dorchester Lower Mills, who built it and why? Was it for birdwatching? To keep an eye on all those commuters invading the city across the Neponset River?

why is it that Boston constituents get constantly stuck with the secondhand embarrassment for things our City Councilors say… when the Councilors themselves apparently feel no shame whatsover?
I like to distract myself from the terrifying political news by reading the ridiculous political news.

How does Manhattan have only one turkey and south Dorchester is afflicted with over 30 in a 6 block area?
Her time in Arkansas was in Fayetteville, which is more college town than rural America.
What’s more annoying is that unlike most- John Fitz worked at the Boston planning agency and has heard pro housing policy before. He doesn’t get to claim ignorance on this one.
