Quite jealous of you coming to this in your own time as an adult, thereβs a howling inconsolable feverish boredom in it, that I donβt think I appreciated when it was set as assigned reading as a first year in uni.

But if you live on the mainland you can absolutely get somewhere sunny by train with relative ease. We went to Toulon by train last winter and it was reasonably warm and easy to get to.
Probably significantly easier if you go abroad without your mood-killer husband, too.
As we only learn what his job was, not hers, I have to assume he's the reason they're loaded; so she maybe didn't have the same opportunities, but now that she cares about this issue, she's jealous he got to travel all over the world for work back when this wasn't an issue most people cared about.
Has it ever been produced as a straight-up satire? It's not often performed because it's generally thought to be sub-par, sort of a clearing-the-cobwebs before he bashes out The Tempest. But I think if you approached it as a pop-culture referential slapstick, it would bang.
Like Shrek.
Every copy of a character or plot hook from his previous plays is sort of janky and cack-handed, but it's delivered so heavy-handedly, you have to assume it's deliberate; a warning that mimicking the outdated ideals of dead empires is maybe, you know, not the best for national stability.
Also featured: the princess Imogen (image) dresses up as a boy, Fidele (fidelity), to escape the bastard Cloten (clothes); he dresses up as Imogen's lover, Posthumus (after death), but gets beheaded and mistaken by Fidele to be Posthumus. There's also a Lidl Middle Lady Macbeth.
It's not subtle!
Near the end, Jupiter "descends in thunder and lightning, sitting upon an eagle: he throws a thunderbolt", and it really feels like a last ditch attempt to throw the whole thing out due to technical difficulties, budget concerns, general health and safety. So silly! So spiteful! The drama, mama!
Cymbeline. It's the Scary Movie of Shakespeare, taking the piss out of tropes on which he built his legacy, to not-subtly protest being commissioned to write a propaganda piece for England's expanding empire, in which a fledgling Britain is a rehash of Rome, which ultimately fell. Very entertaining.

Coming soon! The 404 Ink Bursary for small presses and accompanying crowdfunder will launch in mid-March. This will give away at least Β£3,000 to small presses - we hope to raise more to pay it forward to even more people.
We're in separate beds at the moment and, tbh, it's working out alright as while I snore, he's very jumpy until he hits deep sleep, so it's keeping us from disturbing each other - but I've been in and out of the GP's for years about this and all they've recommended is better sleep hygiene...
I would be too with such a Prince of Persia-ass death.
Longueville/beguile is giving when you've just learnt a new word but aren't quite sure yet how to pronounce it, we've all been there.
One of my favourite things about NTS radio is, with their two channels, they understand that in the morning you only ever either want to float slowly to consciousness through the soft haze of chill-core dream-pop folk-jazz, or be fried awake by five smoke alarms in a battle royale.
Can I ask how bad your symptoms had to get before the NHS gave you one? Iβm half convinced my sleep trouble is partly to do with poor breathing but if Iβm not nodding off while driving on the motorway, my GP isnβt gonna consider it (I suspect because they ainβt cheap, but neitherβs chronic insomnia)
Heartbreaking: a designer paid by the hour has just discovered how to do something very time consuming much quicker.

I love that YouGov is so alarmed by its own poll that it has to add a note saying, effectively, "don't take this too seriously, it's probably skewed by weird, irrelevant stuff like... um, stuff that's happening in the world and things people are starting to think."

Couldn't make it to the gig last night? You can donate to Trans Healthcare Access Glasgow here:
Had an incredible time at the Trans Healthcare Access Glasgow fundraiser last night! Got home sweaty and happy. I wrote some stuff about how great Sersie, Deep Filff, comfort were, plus reflected on the changing landscape of trans/feminist music and politics.

Taking recommendations for deep tissue massages in Glasgow. None of this relaxing, gentle, gongs and jasmine nonsense. I want to go in one shape and come out another. I want to bruise.
