So, you may have noticed I’ve been more active on the other™️ site. That is for a reason.

There’s a few things I want to address. Grievances I have with the direction Bsky is headed in and how it’s affecting myself and has already affected folks I know.

I left a 1 star review on the app store explaining how disappointed i was with their updated adult content policy.

I highly recommend doing so yourself too!

So, I’m not completely leaving. My arms will be spread throughout several sites. But I’m not giving this site energy anymore.

I have a ton of amazingly supportive friends on there in the horror community that have left or were banned here. Thanks for reading.

I think it’s harmful to art as a whole when you start telling us what stories we are and aren’t allowed to tell. What parts of our lives are too “harmful” to depict in our work. Our escapism is too “weird” to be allowed to exist.

Humanity is messy. I’m messy. And there’s nothing wrong with that.

Sure I could pivot to safe happy artwork. But frankly, I’m not a safe happy person. My life isn’t always safe and happy. Art is an outlet for me. A way for me to cope with my trauma, a form of escapism. A lot of things. Some people cope by making cute and nice things, I am not one of those people.

I’ve sung a lot of praises for Bsky, and there’s things on here I still very much prefer over Twitter. But I can’t see myself continuing to actively try and grow my livelihood here and then one day my page just vanishes and there goes my source of income and I have to start from scratch.

I’m an adult horror artist. A lot of the things I’m working on constitute erotic horror & gore. The new guidelines are incredibly vague, and could easily apply to my art. Sure, you can say I’m overreacting and it won’t affect fictitious depictions of harm. But I’ve already seen it happen to others.
