"Why haven't fighting games died yet?"
I wrote about the unique strengths of the fighting game genre that have allowed fighting games to survive multiple generations of evolution intact, and why you didn't fall in love with a product. Warning: This is a long one.

Sorry I'm not more open-minded about LLMs, it's just some fucking maniacs shoveled out a bunch of useless bloatware featuring that technology, did not give me any chance to opt out, reorganized the entire economy around it, zeroed out gains made by green energy, and made it impossible to buy RAM
bn2 is so cute! it has a pretty glaring pacing iceberg RIGHT before the end but it truly feels like fanfic flying by the seat of its pants in a way that's not always Good but *is* always relentlessly free and creative. make up the rules, vibes, a total playground in a way that feels so rare now
MY INTERNET HAS RETURNED this is going to be a banger week
- finishing bn 2 RIGHT NOW
- megaman ZERO tomorrow
- battle network THREE on thursday and friday YIPPEE
woe, browt be upon ye #pokemonday
as a reward for surviving x6 today and tomorrow i get to play BATTLE NETWORK 2 WOO YEAH WOO YEAH YAHOO

Iβm about halfway through a playthrough of every single game in chronological order and while some have been very hard or βof their timeβ this feels like a malicious piece of software. Gateβs fight deserves a spot in some sort of hellshrine for design crimes
kill all fake lovers
being negative is my least favorite thing to do but this game makes me want to go on a crusade to destroy every copy of it that exists. some media should be intentionally lost.
anyways it's time to play megaman x6, the only game in the entire catalogue that Hates You
twitch.tv/scarizardplays
a funny thing about streaming every mega man game in chronological order is that i started this with 56 games on the list and 2 months later the list is now 62 and might grow. on my deathbed i will be discovering new (playable, canon, capcom released) megaman games
The Mighty Milkshake Ducks
i'm a little sad Xtreme 1 was so rancid because the animations and sound design of Xt2 was actually very cool; the mega man series has many hallmarks but 'release a weird title that pushes the absolute limits of a dying console/system' does appear to be a recurring theme for a while
ok this game was SIGNIFICANTLY better and also introduced the coolest designs for villains in the x series? while the main lines were doing the 15th sigma and talking abt if robots have free will or whatever BERKANA is a witch that says 'yoohoo boys' to x and zero and disables ur buttons with hexes
home from errands + haircut so gonna do a MEGAMAN XTREME 2 stream for #29; I have pretty low expectations after Xtreme 1 but I'm gonna try to keep an open mind!

truly love this weird game. BN1's issues mostly stem from a LOT of meandering in spaces instead of being direct, but there's such a fresh, experimental energy it exudes and the combat really is lightning in a bottle. excited to play the rest in short order - as-is, that's #28 down, 31 to go!
good monday losers it's time to defeat more weird guys on the internet i love battle network
twitch.tv/scarizardplays
it's silly to look back on 'what did people think the internet would be like' but battle network has a really charming optimism you kind of can't help but love. tell someone now the Oven would be part of your Computer and they'd call it a hellworld but 2001 said 'but you could put friends in it??'
done for the week, but will be back on monday! it's so funny how half of the people in my chat were 'these games were my childhood' and half of them were like 'what the fuck even is this game i can't follow it and there's no shooting' lmao. i love battle network and its insane plot/pacing
I got Eden when it came out years ago!! Itβs very tough but super cool
happy friday gamers at LAST i begin the 4th Megaman Series, and the one i spent the MOST time with as a child. I haven't revisited this series in 20 years and I'm so excited to strap on my roller blades and stop cyber crime once again :'33

publishers want a nier automata but they do not want drakengard 1-3. but nier automata could not exist without drakengard 1-3
lastly i will say as much as i find those 'AAA mario' or 'if OoT was made today' memes playing this with constant interruptions to say things like 'those spikes will kill you' or 'you have to open that door to enter the next area' reminded me that breaking flow to baby players is by no means modern!
i think i will look back on this one fondly! it's obviously the most 'throw everything at the wall' of the X series, and the script is... quite lacking, to be kind. but the swings it took creatively DID lead to some rad designs and something that stands apart from the 'peak' of X4 and what's to come
No heβs bearvoyant
My brain is peeling. SIGMA is the villain, but your boss is named SIGNAS, and youβre working to repair the ENIGMA. Anyways your friend is named Douglass and the first boss is a grizzly bear that has a crystal ball.
