Candidates backed by the Durham Association of Educators (DAE) swept the school board on Tuesday, marking a shift in powerโand experienceโon the board at a contentious time between the workersโ union and the district.
Incumbent U.S. Rep. Valerie Foushee came out on top in the 4th Congressional District primary, with a less-than-1% lead over Durham County Commissioner Nida Allam. The race could be headed for a recount; candidates can demand one when the margin is smaller than 1% of total votes.

Foushee is currently ahead in both counties (precincts in Wake and Chatham counties arenโt yet reporting results), but keep in mind there are still plenty of votes to be counted.
