I love this movie. Despite its age, the special effects still look incredible to this day. One of the best genre films of its era, and of all time for me.
I need to watch this again soon.

Thank you for doing this Emmie! That was super interesting. Even learned a few things about my own writing. Like, I'd never noticed the thing about contracts/promises, that was amazing lol.
Unless they're just full of shit, which wouldn't surprise me at this point, considering the stuff they've posted in Victoria's thread.
My poem "A Monster Lives Here" is included in the inaugural issue of The Hillsather Press, a new horror magazine. Now available on Amazon and other platforms.

Merc is a great writer! I highly recommend this collection.
A lonely woman in a big & empty manor. A strange and quiet brother. Corpses in winter. Magic. Monsters. A mystery.

Money. Not right away, though. Usually there will be some fake interaction first (now made easier with GenAI) and then they'll ask for a small fee to highlight your book or whatnot. They'll come up with something for sure--they always do.

Yeah, it's perfectly fine so long as he doesn't pay reviewers. Which is why the question "why do you ask so much?" is so important. I'd be more understanding if he actually paid reviewers, but he's not allowed to do that, so...?
Point is, you ARE a "paid review service" and, as you also put it on the website, paid reviews are "against the terms of the sites theyβre likely to be posted on."
4 figures to develop that site? Dude, I could have made that for $0. All it takes is time (barring hosting fees, but you're not counting that, and that's not 4 figures either anyway). So are you really saying your time is worth 4 figures?
I know time is worth money, but this is pushing it :D
Kind of ironic how you say on the website "This is not a paid review service" and then go and ask for money.
Authors don't even sell books for Β£35 (that's $47) so asking for that much is preposterous.

Yes! I love that cover ;)
I propose we start using 'slop' as a verb, too.
Example: Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella really slopped things up with that statement. Boo!
Let's stop slopping everything.
