The book explores Romantic notions about language and the concept of "Late Judaism" and traces these influences through the pages of the TDNT and its reception in 20th c. scholarship.
I am not exaggerating when I say that @chance boar.bsky.social’s chapter here is agenda setting for historical Jesus studies and its future engagement with slavery studies.

In response to the state-sanctioned violence ICE is committing around the country, I am seeing many calls to nonviolent protest following the example of Jesus. This paper looks at the containment strategies at work in HJ research and the ways it upholds the status quo and pacifies resistance. 2/2
I am grateful to Marida Nicolaci for permission to share a forthcoming paper on the problem of a nonviolent historical Jesus, neoliberal ideology, and the ways that scholarly discourse continues to uphold the status quo.

Youth sports really bring out the worst in people. I did not think the way my 9 yo's coach was talking to the girls was appropriate- talking down and yelling to 3rd/4th grders. He called me a "soft helicopter parent," a few other insults, and wound not consider my view. It's been a long day.
