Exciting times for the Open Institutional Publishing Association!

It looks at cases where the public fought back against digital surveillance β
This was the last book I worked on with SUP so I feel quite emotionally attached to it!

Thank you for everything, Dominique!
π£CHAOS IS COMING FOR SCHOLARLY PUBLISHING π£
Watch out, there are radical publishing models about!
@theblochian.bsky.social's latest article on "working together to move to a non-profit, community-governed publishing system" is a vital read, especially in these uncertain times.
I do think you should all wear those en masse at UKSG next year!
Wish you were in Glasgow too!
Any Glasgow academic pals - please let your students know about this free 'Libraries that shaped me' event happening tonight at Kelvin Hall!
π Thrilled that the first ever issue of the Scottish Journal of Open Research has published today, #DiamondOA of course!
This will be such a great venue to share good #OpenResearch practice.
Plus I had my first experience of editing a journal article!

I love an excuse to visit the beautiful University of Stirling campus!
What is a University Press?
On the acquisition of AUP by T&F (and my anger at it), the governance link between universities and university presses, and putting one's labour where one's values are.

Congratulations to @uclpress.bsky.social on ten years of open access book publishing. I still think one of the biggest successes of the UK approach to OA has been the resurgence of the subsidised university press landscape.

I suspect we lose far more access to content every year through publishersβ restrictive licensing of ebooks than we do from weeding print books.
π₯We're very excited to share that we have launched a new free training course! Explore our #OpenAccess in the #Humanities training course on RESHAPED, a new learning platform developed by the School of Advanced Study @uolondon.bsky.social.

Maybe you need some more artful positioning of your jacket. But also I think it causes just about the right amount of confusion!
Oh no! You could have joined me and Rebecca for a pre-train pub trip! Next time x
The hanging corpse was pretty visible during your talk I think!
Becky and @dominiquewalker.bsky.social are back at it again!
This time we are promoting OIPA at the @edopenresearch.bsky.social conference.
If youβre here, come say hi π
Some good discussion of openwashing from commercial publishers and their proprietary platforms in the Q&A. Redirect your money from commercial publishers to community-led open access publishers. #EORC25
