My pleasure!
My pleasure!
They arrived! Hopefully they made it in good condition.
My second piece of my two-part summer movie villain swap is finally finished. FF vs Lex Luthor. So good. And they look great together. Iβll be posting that pic soon so keep an eye out.
A crossover inspired by two of my favorite films from the past summer. Superman from @jamesgunn.bsky.social and FF from Matt Shakman. Also I really wanted to do #inktober this year but just didnβt have the bandwidth. So I may not be totally participating, but I still got to lay down some ink.
2025 has been a βkick you while youβre downβ kind of year so far. Havenβt done any comic related stuff for 2 months. And it hurts. Hopefully by next month Iβll be back to the drawing table. Until then hereβs a piece I did awhile back since itβs apparently βpost something Daredevilβ day #daredevil
Thereβs just a smidge of 2024 left. Calling it a night before the midnights. It finished the year off strong with one last GN for the year. @johnhendrix.bsky.social and his Mythmakers really blew my socks off. I have long obsession with Lewis and his works. This was an inspiration.
Have you read Makers by Cory Doctorow? I remember really enjoying it, but the 3D printing/ maker and even the weight loss drug storylines definitely feel like todayβs Doctorow just went back to 2009 and wrote about now.
Thanks so much for the purchase!
Cooked up some steak to go with leftover mashed potatoes from this weekend. It hit the spot. Going to reward myself with Oreos and Skeleton Crew.
Lunchtime adventures at Hot Poop making a new vinyl acquisition. Itβs always a crazy time at the oldest independently owned record store in Washington State.
It was such an eye opening decision. Having been mostly a Marvel kid growing up Iβd never really thought about it. Made me love the series that much more.
The closest thing I ever had to a βCheersβ situation where everyone knew your name was a small little bookstore in Northern Michigan. They are my comfort zone. Iβll always be supporting them.
Oh holy crap. The broken glass/bandage visuals is freakin genius. Such an awesome piece. Poster-worthy to be sure.
The detail in your work has always floored me. Amazing as always.
Definitely had me choked up when I read it. That imagery, with those words. Just a gorgeous unfair gut punch
It will elevate your life in all the ways you want it to
It feels like a spiritual successor to Calvin and Hobbes. Itβs my favorite current running comic strip. So much laugh out loud hijinks.
Snapshots of a Saturday morning: early morning studio light is the best light. Inflicting pain on myself. Cranking out scenes for issue 3. Getting inspired by a couple recent comic acquisitions by @ssnyder1835.bsky.social Nick Dragotta, @tomking.bsky.social @bilquis.bsky.social
This is as boiled down as it gets. Show me your taste in 4 different comics.
NEXTWave is, hands down, one of my all time favorite comics. The literal laugh out loud factor for this is so high.
That is fantastic to hear! Congrats!!!
This was awesome. Didnβt know this was something you could do. Have been following a healthy swathe of these creators but this definitely made me realize I had missed a few of my favorite creators. Thanks!
More Nightcrawler in the world is always a good thing!
Such an amazing issue. Loved this page. Such a great way to kick off the issue. Loved the scale and all the detail. Wonderful work as always
Oh weβre ready
Spending my lunch hour working on a page for a comic project Iβm working on while listening to @ramonperez.bsky.social on InkPulp with Shawn and Matteo. Time well spent with similarly bearded men.
Very much a #wip but itβs finally starting to come together. A short story Iβm working on as a practical exercise. Two cranky Brits named Jo(h)n, what could go wrong? Iβve always loved Chris Bachaloβs Chamber design from the original Generation X run. And Constantine is just Constantine.
Or maybe distractions that are easier to ignore?
I find I get most of my writing done not-in-the-studio. Just too many distractions and things to do/procrastinate with. But I also find a coffee shop with very few pastries/snacksβ¦thatβs a whole other danger.
