Very pleased to get my hard copy of @graemelyons.bsky.social excellent book. See my review: markavery.info/2026/01/04/s... I broke my rule of not giving jacket quotes for this book.
Great cover, Rachel Hudson. Thnx for publishing @pelagic.bsky.social

Really enjoying this by @graemelyons.bsky.social
I don't think I'll ever become a super-naturalist but I'll have fun trying!

Very excited to get this superb book in my morning post. Everyone should have one! #NFBR #NBN
Ordered last June, arrived Tuesday, finished last night. A book I needed years ago. Absolutely terrific and if youβre early in your naturalist phase an essential read I would say. One that wonβt go on the shelf but to reread and dip into, especially the section on different groups.
Woo-hoo #goodpostday
Hotly anticipated and well stoked to get this, looks fantastic, though my knees might not thank me @panspecieslisting.bsky.social
A photo of Graeme Lyonβs newly-published book Pan-Species Listing - How to Become a Super-Naturalist (published by @pelagicpublishing). The front cover shows a diversity of species from different groups, the artwork by Rachel Hudson (@rachelhillustrates).
This fabulous book arrived yesterday and Iβve already read it pretty much from cover to cover. I normally prefer audio books and canβt think of another physical book Iβve read so comprehensively for literally decades. Congrats @graemelyons.bsky.social: a fantastic achievement.
It's arrived! Pan-species Listing: How to Become a Super-Naturalist published by @pelagicpublishing. My first book.
I am so pleased with it. It looks amazing, all those photos of incredible British species really make this a very colourful book and a celebration of how fantastic our wildlife is.
Cleaning out a couple of bird boxes. Also thinking I might get some new species for the @panspecieslisting.bsky.social then came across this/these anyone got any pointers? Underneath moss from last years Blue Tit nest, East Yorkshire, if that makes a difference?
Banstead, Surrey: the 2026 garden bioblitz is well underway, so far hampered by a virus and the snow and ice. However, with my βsoftly softlyβ and steady approach it is really enjoyable. Lifers definitely to be had with which to pump up the @panspecieslisting.bsky.social list!

Good stuff (this is Andy Mus though!)
Hi Mac. Data sharing is a complex question, but in general we recommend you send records to iRecord. This exposes them to the network of verifiers and most then flow to NBN, where they can be picked up by anyone who needs them. (If most of your recs are based on photos, iNaturalist another option)

"Hardly anyone has the knowledge to write this book & even fewer could write it so well!"
November flowering in the Surrey Uber patch: now up to 228sp with highlights of Bladder Campion and this naturalised Scarlet Gaura (listed on @panspecieslisting.bsky.social so included here) - found βescapedβ on lose paving close to other plants in a bed.
A few changes to the birds listed on PSL - we've brought the list in line with www.avilist.org. This means that we've lumped Teal/Green-winged Teal, Carrion/Hooded Crow, Balearic/Yelkouan Shearwater, Sandwich/Cabot's Tern and Siberian/Stejneger's Stonechats.

Endemic is out now
Itβs the big day! After four years of research, writing and editing (and procrastination, terror and imposter syndrome), Endemic has now been released to the world.
Great long weekend just gone, hosting BUBO friends for Norfolk PSL shenanigans. A varied list of 22 new species for me, some common and some rare. Great fun!
