OBAMA: It's fair to say that 80% of the world's problems involve old men hanging on who are afraid of death and insignificance, and they won't let go. They build pyramids, and they put their names on everything. They get very anxious about it.
Sleep EEG-fMRI finally starting @thechbh.bsky.social!
Launched in 2023, Imaging Neuroscience is now firmly established, with full indexing (PubMed, etc.) and 700 papers to date.
We're very happy to announce that we are able to reduce the APC to $1400.
Huge thanks to all authors, reviewers, editorial team+board, and MIT Press.
So this happened, it's wonderful to get local recognition for the work we put into our little shop, it's been a crazy 2025 so far and we're not done yet!

The 2nd Bangor fMRS symposium kicked off tonight, with a welcome dinner in Bwyd da Bangor. A good start I think.
Check out our latest paper..
- A simple view of the ageing effect across the full spectrum and the whole head
- Spectra of effect sizes
- Covariates can change effect size
- Replication!
We hope this facilitates synthesis of results across a rich and varied literature of age effects

Our new study shows that accelerated long-term forgetting occurs more often in stroke patients than in age-matched controls. After one week, 35% showed marked forgetting despite normal recall after 30 min. Important for neuropsychological diagnostics.

Mildred Cohn was born 112 years ago today. In the middle of the 20th century she pioneered the use of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance to probe the chemical processes governing the storage and release of energy in ATP. Here is her story!

New paper showing a key component of the glutamate-glutamine cycle. NTT4 (SLC6A17) supplies Gln for the presynaptic production of Glu. Needed to sustain rapid ongoing excitatory synaptic transmission and has roles in memory formation and other behaviours.
