weirdly, even though i only speak english, i often don't pay attention to the lyrics in songs. Sometimes I'm surprised when i stop and look at the lyrics and think about what they're actually about. And I very much enjoy music in languages I don't understand. Esp love a lot of Brazilian music.

My Atari 2600 still works! About 46 years. Old. Although I can’t find anyone who will fix a CRT anymore.. that’s another technology that’s gonna be extinct soon. Luckily my newer TV still has that coaxial cable jack so I can hook up to that.

I tried to install this version on my wife’s newer Mac laptop and it wouldn’t work.

It does not. My computer is still running Mojave. I had to stop updating my iPhone last year because the old version of iTunes that works on this computer no longer works with the newest IOS and I’d lose access to my mp3.. at least through Apple Music. So far I’m still ok in my old ass ecosystem.

ugh. (I never used that but) I hate this new world where you never get to own digital products. Seems they're trying to go that way with video games and movies too. I'm still using 2014 photoshop just so i don't have to pay a subscription fee. ha.

i have some old files i wish i could play. I found a website that supposedly can do it, but it was rather complicated and i eventually gave up. how hard could it be to just make a swf player app??

And the people likely to see through it for the stupid propaganda that it is, can see that a mile away and won’t go to the movie in the first place.

This reminds me how I heard the reason those ridiculous foreign prince email scams work is that the people stupid enough to reply are exactly the people they can manipulate into forking over money. In this case a high audience score only means the dumbest people are going to see it.

I was about to say I always thought the idea of a chosen one prophesy was bunk. I prefer the idea of people choosing their own destiny. But I suppose now we’re all just using head canon and fan fiction to explain everything how we want it to be.

I thought it was heavily implied that Palpatine used his plaegus force powers of life and death to both make Anakin be conceived and padme to die.

And Anakin could win a pod race without any force training as a child. I thought the whole point of Rey was maybe a powerful force user could come from nowhere. Why the hell not. Of course when they explained it by saying she was the daughter of a Palpatine clone that’s when I was bummed.

Yes and Lucas has explicitly stated his original films had themes inspired by American imperialism during Viet Nam. I guess I went off on a tangent there. None of that has anything to do with whether gravity and lasers work the way they do in Star Wars.

No doubt it’s been a problem before also. I’d just think when a huge company spends so much money to attain the properties and make new films they might plan ahead a little better. Like you’d think just writing an overarching synopsis for a 3 film series wouldn’t be that hard to do.

Fair enough and I can be cynical of corporate stuff too believe me. but Disney makes a lot good stuff. Most of the Pixar stuff has great writing. Andor was amazing. Hell a lot of the stuff in the sequels was great aside from the bad plot decisions. Someone just dropped the ball.

i loved a lot of stuff about the sequel films. The characters were great. But I can't for the life of me understand why they chose to make the story up as they went along rather than thoroughly write and plan it. But that has nothing to do with the "realism" of the movies.

I don't have any problem with the unrealistic fantasy stuff in star wars - i love that stuff, but Andor is almost a little too real (like "ripped from the headlines" real) and its still very good. Maybe some of the best writing ever in Star Wars.

i can suspend disbelief and accept that. And Rey's abilities were clearly set up that way too. She had been scavenging, doing extremely taxing physical activity and building and flying her own vehicles for years. Plus force ability - like how baby Anakin was able to fly ships no other human could.

exactly. This is a fantasy where gravity exists everywhere even on small spaceships and meteors. Also how no one ever questioned Luke's force abilities but suddenly Rey's were unrealistic. (i have some issues with the new films but its not that stuff)
